10 Things to Do Before Leaving ESDI
Your time at ESDI is coming to an end, but before you say goodbye, make sure you’ve checked everything off this list! Here’s your essential guide to wrapping up your studies, your stay in Sabadell, and your adventure in Catalonia the right way.
1. Complete All Academic Requirements
– Make sure you’ve submitted all assignments and final projects.
– Double-check grades and course credits on the academic platform.
– If you’re an exchange student, confirm with your coordinator that everything is approved before going home.
2. Sign and Collect Your Learning Agreement (Erasmus / Exchange)
– Get all necessary signatures from professors and the International Relations Office.
– Ask for your Transcript of Records, it will be sent to your home university but confirm the timeline.
– Keep a digital copy of all academic documents!
3. Attend the Final Buddies & Farewell Meeting with the international community
– Don’t miss the final gathering with your Buddy and other international students.
– Share your experience, memories, and feedback about the Buddy Programme and your stay.
– Take lots of pictures, it’s your ESDI goodbye moment!
4. Cancel or Finalize Your Housing Contract
– Inform your landlord or residence at least 30 days in advance.
– Return keys, recover your deposit, and make sure utilities are paid.
– Take photos of the room/apartment before leaving, just in case!
5. Close Your Bank Account
– If you opened a Spanish bank account, visit your branch to close it before you leave.
– Withdraw or transfer remaining funds.
– Keep a proof of closure in case you need it later.
6. Check Your Phone & Internet Contracts
– Cancel or pause your SIM card / data plan to avoid extra charges.
– If you rented Wi-Fi or devices, return them before departure.
7. Take Care of Your Documents
– Make copies of your passport, visa, and NIE/TIE (you might need them later for tax or university records).
– If you registered at the Town Hall (Empadronamiento), inform them that you’re leaving Spain.
8. Give Feedback
– Complete the Satisfaction Survey / Feedback Form from the International Office. Your opinion helps improve the experience for future students.
– If you were part of the Buddy Program, fill out the Buddy feedback survey as well.
9. Visit Your Favorite Spots One Last Time
Before you go, take time to enjoy your favorite places:
– Have a coffee at the campus café
– Walk through Sabadell’s Parc Catalunya
– Spend a weekend in Barcelona
– Visit Montserrat or the beach one last time.
10. Stay Connected
