Understanding transport zones in Barcelona

Sabadell is a well-connected city and an accessible hub between several nearby towns. You can easily reach it by train, railway, bus, or car.

When using public transport in Barcelona and its surrounding areas (like Sabadell), it’s important to understand how the zone system works (Official Zone Map and details about fares). The price of your ticket or travel card depends on the number of zones you cross during your journey.

Sabadell is located in Zone 2C, while the city of Barcelona is in Zone 1. This means that if you travel frequently between both cities, you’ll need a ticket or transport card that covers 2 zones (for example, T-Usual 2 zones or T-Jove 2 zones).

Knowing the zones will help you choose the right transport card and avoid fines or confusion when travelling by train, metro, bus, or FGC.

T-MOBILITAT / T-JOVE

A personalised travel card valid for an unlimited number of journeys in 90 consecutive days from the first validation for under 30s through all the zones covered by the Barcelona integrated fare system (this also includes Sabadell).
