Housing

Choosing the right place to live is essential in order to be calm and continue focusing on all the other procedures you will be doing as soon as you arrive in Spain. It might be a good idea to have for the first month a temporary accommodation before you begin searching for a full time rental.

To stay in Barcelona or Sabadell, it’s convenient to stay near the train, the railway or the bus station to travel easily to ESDI.

Before you start looking

We recommend you to have:

– Arranged your NIE number.

– Have an idea of your budget per month.

– Open a Spanish bank account if possible. Many expats recommend Banco Sabadell, Caixabank and Banco Santander, both of which offer English-speaking phone and internet services.

– Learn basic Catalan; plenty of free government courses are available

*If you’re an exchange student these conditions may be less strict and/or not necessary.
