The Master’s Degree in Digital Art Curatorship at ESDI–URL prepares you to research, conceptualise, and produce exhibition projects linked to art, technology and contemporary culture, and to interpret the digital context from a critical and curatorial perspective.
INTRODUCTION
The Master’s Degree in Digital Art Curatorship at ESDI–URL is apioneering university program that combines critical theory, curatorial thinking, and artistic practice linked to emerging technologies. Throughout the master’s program, students are trained in the analysis and production of cultural and exhibition projects that explore the intersections between art, science, technology, and contemporary society.
With an interdisciplinary approach and a connection to the professional context, the program offers tools for researching, conceptualizing, and developing innovative curatorial proposals. From interactive installations to virtual environments, the master’s program prepares professionals capable of mediating between digital artistic practice and new formats for exhibition, communication, and aesthetic experience.

Curriculum
The Master’s Degree in Digital Art Curatorship comprises 60 ECTS credits, to be completed in one academic year. The curriculum is divided into 201 hours of lectures, 30 hours of seminars, and 10 hours of visits to spaces related to curatorial practice and digital art.

Critical writing workshop: analysis of the language of art.

People interested in acquiring a solid education in the fields of academic research and exhibition curating, art theory and criticism, as well as cultural practices and activities related to media art or electronic art.
As this is an official qualification, applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in the areas of art history, fine arts or visual arts, art criticism, design, communication sciences, journalism, cultural management, or other related disciplines.

Teaching Collaborators

COORDINATOR OF THE MASTER'S PROGRAM IN DIGITAL ART CURATING
PhD in Philosophy from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and a degree in Humanities (UAB). Her research interests focus on performativity and the experience of time in the digital context. In 2011, she co-created the art and thought platform Nómade, which has resulted in several events and seven publications addressing contemporary issues. Her experience includes conservation work in small museums (Museu Militar de Menorca, Museu de la Perruqueria), cataloging the work of her father, the photographer Manolo Laguillo, and theorizing the work of performance artist Mercedes Boronat.

CURATOR
Graduate in Fine Arts from the University of Buenos Aires, she also completed the Independent Studies Program at MACBA and holds a Master’s degree in Digital Art Curating from ESDI. She was editor-in-chief of the contemporary art digital magazine exibart.es and was part of the team at the LOOP Barcelona festival, where she served as artistic director. She was project coordinator and co-director of the art and science foundation Quo Artis. She has worked in the coordination, research, and production of exhibitions for La Virreina Centre de la Imatge, MACBA, the Antoni Tàpies Foundation, and the Joan Miró Foundation, and was a programmer in the audiovisual department of the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires. She currently works at HANGAR.

Bachelor’s degree in Audiovisual Communication and Master’s degree in Advanced Interaction at IAAC. Her innovative cultural management is embodied in the co-creation of the cultural space 220 Contemporary Culture, and in her collaboration in the MUTEK.ES and Fixing the Future festivals. As an artist, she has participated in collaborative and multidisciplinary projects at festivals such as LLUM BCN, SONAR+D and RESHAPE, as well as in exhibitions and residencies with individual projects ranging from sound to performance and installation.

Contemporary art curator, lecturer, and researcher. He is currently the artistic director of Medialab Matadero. In 2025, he curated the 5th Industrial Art Biennial (Croatia). He was part of the curatorial team for Transmediale 2023. He co-founded The Influencers festival (CCCB, 2004–2019).

With a background in film, digital art, and communication, she holds a Master’s degree in Digital Art Curating from ESDI-URL and is currently a doctoral candidate in Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona. She works across audiovisual media, combining it with transmedia environments, performance, and installation, exploring themes such as digital bodies, digital labor, the screen-image, and collective thought. She has participated as an artist-in-residence in exhibition and performance projects at La Escocesa, Hangar, Unzip, Konvent, Lo Pati, Fabra i Coats, Convent de Sant Agustí, Bòlit, Santa Mònica, Cultural Rizoma, LOOP, Panoràmic, Filmoteca de Catalunya, L’Estruch, and the Museu de Granollers.

CULTURAL ART CURATOR AND DIGITAL PRODUCER
With a Degree in Art History from UAB and a Master’s in Digital Art Curating from ESDI-URL, she has been a project manager at Domestic Data Streamers and executive director of the Digital Impact exhibition at the DHUB. She is the co-founder of Gracias Grecia, a cultural and design production company.

With a PhD in Fine Arts, the projects he has participated in over the past few years have been exhibited at numerous international art institutions. As a multimedia artist, he has long situated his work in a hybrid space that blends social processes, new technologies, and aesthetics. He is a co-founding member of the cultural association Enmedio.

UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENT OF DESIGN THEORY AND ANALYSIS
Researcher and lecturer in design and science, technology, and society studies. His work explores how objects, practices, and concepts shape material and political realities. He combines theory and experimentation to conceptualize design as a practice.

RESEARCHER IN ART, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
With a PhD from the Department of History of Philosophy, Aesthetics, and Philosophy of Culture at the University of Barcelona, he is co-director of Hac Te, a center for art, science, and technology in Barcelona, and co-editor of Artnodes Magazine. He has curated the Barcelona Science Biennial and directed the International Symposium of Electronic Arts (ISEA BCN). He has published the study Art and Artificial Intelligence (2022) and edited the ACTS White Paper (2023) and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Barcelona Culture Council.

Art historian and coordinator of Temporals at the Barcelona Institute of Culture in Grisart Lab. Lecturer in the Master’s Program in Digital Art Curating at ESDI and creator of the Ni Mona Ni Lisa project, with content on social media, curating, courses and lectures in museums, universities and institutes, where she explores the history of art from a gender perspective.

DIGITAL ARTIST
Artist, researcher, and developer. His work explores forms of shared authorship through participatory technologies and has been exhibited at institutions such as the Centre Pompidou, Fundació Miró, and Sónar. He combines artistic production with teaching and research in digital art and data science.

TECHNOLOGY AND CREATIVITY TEACHER
Expert in digital culture, technology, and creativity, she teaches at the Faculty of Computer Science, Multimedia, and Telecommunications at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC). She also regularly teaches in university programs at cultural institutions and technology centers.
