ADMISSION PROCESS
The admissions process for ESDI’s Master’s and Postgraduate programs values your background, goals, and professional potential. We will support you every step of the way so you can advance your career with specialized, personalized training tailored to your future in the creative sector.
Access to Official Master’s Degrees
Access to Official Master’s Degree programmes is governed by current regulations on official university education, in particular Royal Decree 822/2021 of 28 September, which establishes the organisation of university education and quality assurance procedures, as well as Organic Law 2/2023 of 22 March on the University System (LOSU), and the academic regulations of Ramon Llull University. In accordance with Article 18 of Royal Decree 822/2021, the following applicants may access official Master’s Degree programmes:

OFFICIAL UNIVERSITY DEGREE FROM THE EUROPEAN HIGHER EDUCATION AREA (EHEA): Applicants must hold an official Spanish Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification issued by a higher education institution within the European Higher Education Area that grants access to Master’s studies in the country where it was issued.

DEGREES FROM EDUCATION SYSTEMS OUTSIDE THE EHEA: Applicants holding a qualification from education systems outside the European Higher Education Area may also apply without the need for official recognition (homologation) of their degree, provided that Universitat Ramon Llull verifies that the level of education is equivalent to that of official Spanish university degrees and that the qualification grants access to postgraduate studies in the country of origin. Access through this route does not, under any circumstances, imply the homologation of the prior qualification nor its recognition for purposes other than admission to the Master’s programme.

CONDITIONAL ADMISSION: In accordance with Article 18.4 of Royal Decree 822/2021, students who have not yet completed their Bachelor’s degree may be admitted, provided they have no more than 9 ECTS credits pending (excluding the Final Degree Project), and they obtain their degree before the official start of the Master’s programme. In such cases, admission will be conditional upon proof of completion of the Bachelor’s degree within the deadlines established by the university’s academic regulations.

EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES AND ACCESSIBILITY: Ramon Llull University and ESDI School of Design guarantee equal opportunities and non-discrimination in access to Master’s programmes. For students with specific educational needs arising from disabilities, the necessary support and guidance services will be provided to assess possible academic accommodations. These measures will be implemented in accordance with institutional regulations and applicable legislation on inclusion and accessibility in higher education.
Assessment Criteria
To be admitted to the programme, candidates must obtain a minimum score of 60 points across all selection criteria. If the number of applications exceeds the number of available places, admission will be granted based on the ranking of scores obtained during the evaluation process. Candidate selection will be carried out through the combined assessment of the following criteria:
- Academic record: 35 points
- Professional experience or academic background related to the field of the Master’s programme: 20 points
- Suitability of the candidate’s profile in relation to the programme objectives: 20 points
- Academic or professional letters of recommendation: 10 points
- Certified level of English (minimum B2 recommended): 5 points
- Motivation letter: 5 points
- Personal interview: 5 points
Admission Process
The admission process will be carried out in accordance with the procedures established by Universitat Ramon Llull and consists of the following stages:

Submission of the application along with the required documentation (academic transcript, curriculum vitae, motivation letter, letters of recommendation, and proof of language proficiency, if applicable).

Administrative review of the documentation by the Academic Secretariat.

Evaluation of applications by the academic director of the Master’s programme or by an admissions committee appointed by the institution.

Personal interview, when deemed necessary to more accurately assess the candidate’s profile.
Requirements for National Students
You can access ESDI Master’s and Postgraduate programmes through the following pathways:
- Bachelor’s Degree: official requirement for access to the Official Master’s Degree in Digital Art Curatorship.
- Non-official university degrees equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree.
- Higher Vocational Training (CFGS): applicants accessing non-official master’s and postgraduate programmes through a CFGS may obtain a University Extension Diploma.
- Other: please consult admission pathways with the Admissions team.
Requirements for International Students
International students must have their previous qualification officially recognised (homologated) and legalised:
- To enrol in ESDI Master’s and Postgraduate programmes, you must have your prior qualification homologated within the Spanish education system.
- You may enrol while the homologation process is underway, even if it has not yet been completed.
Admission Documents
To complete your application, you must submit the basic documentation that allows us to understand your academic and professional profile. These documents help us assess your application in a rigorous and personalised way, and ensure that the programme aligns with your educational goals.

Valid ID (DNI) or passport.

Master’s in Digital Art Curatorship: Bachelor’s Degree certificate or official proof issued by the university (if not yet completed).
Other Master’s and Postgraduate programmes: certificate of previous studies. -
Motivation letter (400 words).

Creative portfolio (optional).
Confirmation of Place
Once you pass the admissions test, you will receive your official Admission Letter, which confirms your acceptance into the Master’s or Postgraduate program of your choice. From that moment on, you can formalize your place reservation to secure your spot in the program.
The process is simple: just send proof of the transfer along with a copy of your ID. Our admissions team will guide you through this final step and answer any questions to ensure your registration is complete.
