ESDI is gearing up for a new edition of ESDI FEST, which will take place on April 16th and will once again become a meeting point for students and leading figures from various creative fields. The event will bring together professionals from the world of fashion, branding, interior design, art direction, typography, illustration, and visual research, in a program designed to inspire, share experiences, and connect emerging talent with the realities of the industry.
The first session of presentations will begin at 10:00 AM with Tania Morenilla, a stylist with a career linked to campaigns for brands such as Nike, Reebok, Adidas, Moncler, Puma, Uniqlo, and Bimba y Lola, as well as music videos for artists like Guitarrica de la Fuente and La Zowi. She will share the stage with Álex Pérez, Chief Creative Officer of Morillas, the branding design studio recognised with the National Design Award, and with Marina Zamora, creative director and founder of Sezam, an interior design studio.
At 11:45 a.m., it will be the turn of Javier Guijarro, fashion designer and ESDI alumni, who presented his new collection at Paris Fashion Week and whose designs have been selected by artists such as Aitana, Bad Gyal, Karol G, Rauw Alejandro, and Charli XCX. Also participating in this session will be Gerard Torres, visual artist, professor, and researcher focused on the concept of “artistic waste” as an essential part of contemporary creation, and Marc Urtasun, a multidisciplinary artist and art director specializing in 3D and digital design, illustration, typography, and animation, with projects for clients such as Nike, Bad Bunny, Adidas, Google, and Nickelodeon.
The last round of presentations will be at 13.30 and will feature the renowned illustrator and visual artist CONRAD ROSET, co-founder of Nomada Studio, the studio that created the video games Gris and Neva; BOGIDAR MASCAREÑAS, typographer and graphic designer; and DAVID GONZÁLEZ, researcher, art director, visual storyteller and professor.
In addition to presentations by invited professionals, ESDI FEST will also feature the participation of students from the school, who will present some of the most outstanding projects of the past year. Among them, Sandra Rodríguez will share “Los Rodríguez,” a Graphic Design project recognized at the ADC*E Awards; other works to be showcased include “HEXALUX for Llum BCN” by Marta Gil and Berta Morales in the field of Interior Design; the experience of Aroa Lemos and Carlota Izquierdo as finalists in the XXXIV Camariñas Lace Exhibition in Fashion Design; the “Kukura” project for an NGO in Uganda, in Product Design; and Guido Ramírez’s Final Year Project, “Miyitikito,” related to Pattern Making and Fashion. Furthermore, the ESDI Design Market will be present, a space dedicated to student projects that will allow visitors to discover new creative proposals emerging from the ESDI community. These presentations will allow you to get a close look at the emerging talent of ESDI and the real projection of the projects developed in the classroom.
With this new edition, ESDI reinforces ESDI FEST as a space for connection between education and industry, where students can learn about diverse professional career paths, discover real creative processes and broaden their perspective on the multiple career options in contemporary design.
