INTRODUCTION
The Advanced Vocational Training Certificate (CGFS) in Pattern Making and Fashion at ESDI prepares you to work in the fashion industry through practical training in pattern making, garment construction, and prototype development. Throughout the programme, you will learn to transform ideas into real garments using professional tools, artisanal and industrial sewing techniques, and methodologies applied to the creative process.
At ESDI, the training programme is complemented by real-world projects, fully equipped workshops, and guidance from specialists in pattern making and fashion. During your training, you will develop skills such as volume analysis, pattern construction, fit correction, material selection, and collection design.

Curriculum
The Advanced Vocational Training Certificate in Pattern Making and Fashion has a total duration of 2,000 hours, which include both training at the educational center and in the company where the curricular internships are carried out. These hours are distributed across 14 modules and their corresponding training units, to be completed over two academic years.

Teaching Collaborators

DIRECTOR OF THE CREATE LAB
Graduate from ESDI with a degree in Textile and Fashion Design, and a Master’s in Digital Art Curating from ESDI-URL. She has completed courses in digital design and knitwear technology at Shima-Seiki and currently collaborates on various research projects for ESDI on new materials and color trends. She has coordinated the textile and garment-making vocational training programs and has been a teacher since the 1999-2000 academic year.

DESIGNER AND PATTERN MAKER
Advanced degree in Pattern Making and Fashion Design and a Master’s degree in Pedagogical and Didactic Training. He combines the craftsmanship of pattern making and garment construction with digital design and illustration systems, exploring the intersection of technical and creative skills. He dedicates part of his career to teaching, introducing students to the technical processes of the industry.

PATTERN MAKER
Industrial pattern maker, specializing in garment construction and pattern making. Since 2016, she has worked as an assistant to the technical director at the Juan Carlos Grao design and pattern-making studio, undertaking projects for companies and creating custom-made collections and garments. A specialist in pattern making, grading, and digital design, she also works as a freelancer, producing technical and design documentation.

FASHION CULTURE SPECIALIST
Specialist in fashion culture with a degree in Art History from the University of Barcelona, a postgraduate degree in Graphic Expression Techniques from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), an Erasmus exchange at Paul Valéry University (Paris VIII), and a Master’s degree in Curating New Media from ESDI-Ramon Llull University, specializing in research. Her career has encompassed teaching, research, journalism, and curating, focusing on fashion culture.

DESIGNER
After studying economics and music, Josep Poblet began his career as a designer when he decided to leave his office job to return to working with his hands. He currently combines teaching at design schools and collaborating with other studios with running his own studio, which he started in Barcelona, and moved to Vila-seca, his hometown, in 2022.

Fashion designer trained at ESDI and specialist in printing. He is the creative director and footwear designer for Gavary Group.
