FASHION DESIGN
The ESDI Summer Course in Fashion Design is an international crash course program that introduces students to fashion design from a cultural, creative, and strategic perspective. Over the course of 15 academic days in Barcelona, you will work with real-world research methodologies, trend analysis, and conceptualization applied to the fashion industry.
Introduction
This summer program offers an academic immersion in fashion design, understood as a cultural, symbolic, and social system. Over 15 academic days, students participate in practical workshops based on visual research, coolhunting, and sociocultural interpretation, developing a critical perspective on the present and future of the fashion industry.
The objective of the course is for students to learn to observe, analyze and interpret emerging phenomena in order to transform them into solid concepts, brand narratives and creative proposals with strategic sense, all combined with cultural visits and outings that complement this international experience.

Contents
The International Summer Course in Fashion Design has a workload of 60 hours of classes, in which the following contents will be taught:

1. INTRODUCTION TO FASHION DESIGN AND ESDI FRAMEWORK.
Introduction to fashion design as a system for the symbolic construction of identity. The course explores the role of the designer as a cultural analyst, the ESDI methodology for critical observation and the detection of micro-trends, and the global context of the sector in Spain and Europe. -
2. RESEARCH, COOLHUNTING AND BEHAVIORAL ANALYSIS.
Development of visual and ethnographic research tools applied to social spaces and digital platforms. The module covers fashion psychology, neuromarketing, audience analysis, benchmarking of aesthetic universes, and brand positioning. -
3. INTERPRETATION, NARRATIVE AND CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT.
Translating trends into creative concepts with meaning, intention, and vision. This includes developing professional trend reports, analyzing real-world industry case studies, and constructing conceptual frameworks and strategic storytelling based on cultural data.

4. SYNTHESIS, VISUALIZATION AND PROFESSIONAL PRESENTATION.
Synthesis of the research in a final trend deck, definition of visual codes, emotional palettes, and strategic opportunities. Preparation and oral presentation of the final project with personalized feedback from the teaching team.

The International Summer Course in Fashion Design is aimed at university students and recent graduates interested in fashion design, trend research, visual culture, and creative communication. No prior experience is required, but an interest in fashion, creativity, and contemporary analysis is essential.
