Curriculum
The Master’s in Design and Content Creation with AI at ESDI consists of 60 ECTS credits and is structured in 6 modules:
-
M1. FUNDAMENTALS OF AI AND MACHINE LEARNING
A conceptual foundation for understanding how models work (with a focus on generative models), its capabilities and limitations; vocabulary and frameworks for making well-informed decisions. -
M2. ENGINEERING PROMPTS
Strategies for designing and optimizing prompts in LLMs and related models, maximizing accuracy, creativity, and utility in text, code, analysis, and problem-solving tasks.
-
M3. AI-ASSISTED MULTIMEDIA PRODUCTION
Image, video and audio workflow with AI: asset generation, editing and post-production using leading tools (such as RunwaML, DaVinci Resolve with AI, or Unreal Egine), with a critical lens on potential and limitations. -
M4. INNOVATION AND SUSTAINABILITY IN THE DIGITAL CREATIVE ECONOMY.
Ethical-legal and strategic framework: intellectual property, copyright, data governance and responsible leadership in teams implementing AI. -
M5. GENERATIVE MEDIA PROJECT WORKSHOP.
Master’s pillar: from an idea to a functional prototype. Problem/opportunity definition, technology selection, planning, production and presentation of an original AI project. -
M6. ELECTIVE COURSES BY ITINERARY:
Digital fabrication and biodesign.
Data Sculpture.
Interactive and AI-assisted web design.
Creative and narrative writing with AI.
Methodology
In this Master’s program, research is approached through design and it is practice-led. It is not merely research about design, but rather an inquiry that generates knowledge from creative practice itself. This approach aligns with design research methodologies that emphasize the creation of artifacts as a legitimate form of knowledge production.
The methodology of study, research and production ensures that graduates of this Master’s program are not only technically competent creators, but also critical thinkers and rigorous researchers, capable of contributing significantly to the future of creative industries in a world increasingly shaped by the consubstantiation of the subject with technology.
