ADVANCED MASTER
BESPOKE TAILORING
Specialise in pattern making, construction, and fitting of contemporary menswear. Develop custom trousers, shirts, vests, and blazers, and turn your workshop work into a portfolio that showcases your judgment and technical skills.
Introduction
The ESDI Advanced Master’s in Bespoke Tailoring prepares you to handle a complete men’s tailoring order, from taking measurements to the final touches. You will learn to interpret the client’s morphology, develop custom patterns, and construct garments that respond to their body and needs. This advanced training will deepen your understanding of the craft, refine your technical skills, and allow you to work on the fit, structure, and quality of each piece with a comprehensive view of the process.
The programme focuses on four essential garments: trousers, shirt, waistcoat, and structured blazer, and incorporates accessories and a final project. Through hands-on workshop practice, demonstrations, and individual feedback, you will work on pattern making, internal construction, pressed garments, and hand finishing. The learning culminates in a professional portfolio that documents your pieces, fittings, and revisions, using digital tools and artificial intelligence to enhance its presentation.

Methodology
Learning takes place in the workshop through technical explanations, instructor demonstrations, and supervised individual practice. Each garment allows participants to go through the entire process: measuring, pattern making, construction, fitting, analysis, correction, finishing, and documentation. The difficulty increases progressively to solidify techniques and connect pattern-making decisions with the final garment.
Individualised feedback accompanies your work throughout the entire process. Adjustment issues are addressed as technical problems that you will learn to identify and resolve, and testing is conducted on people whenever possible. The pieces developed in the modules are incorporated into the final project to showcase both the results and the technical reasoning behind them.
