The students of ESDI have designed the Yamaha Light Meeting Point for the upcoming edition of Llum BCN 2025, one of the most prominent light art festivals in Europe and a cultural landmark in Barcelona.
The NexusVision project, created by students Sara Gómez, Júlia Peñuela, Maria Selva, and Mar Cerrato, from the second and third years of the Escuela Superior de Diseño ESDI-Sabadell, is an installation that transcends the boundaries between architecture, design, and sensory experience.
With a modular structure stretching 50 square meters and made of scaffolding and LED lights, the project features an open ring that symbolizes continuity and human connection. At its core, two Yamaha vehicles act as reference points that energize the space, while the central circle remains accessible, inviting interaction and discovery.
Light is the protagonist in NexusVision, constantly transforming the space with moving shadows, contorted geometric shapes, and surfaces that seem to breathe. These light mutations explore the tension between the artificial and the organic, creating an environment that feels both intimate and expansive, static and dynamic.
The design reflects the dualities of human relationships, making the Yamaha Light Meeting Point a unique space at Llum BCN 2025. This project not only celebrates the emerging talent of ESDI students but also reaffirms the importance of design as a tool to connect people through innovation and creativity.
