Eight ESDI students will open the runway at Barcelona Bridal Night 2026 during the Spanish debut of the iconic Haute Couture designer
ESDI will be present at one of the most emblematic moments of the Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week 2026, actively participating in the runway show led by Stéphane Rolland Paris, guest designer of the tenth edition of Barcelona Bridal Night. A milestone that connects education, industry, and haute couture on the international fashion stage.
Last month, the first joint creative session and review took place between the eight selected ESDI students and the French maison team. From this initial meeting, participants will begin an intensive six-month collaboration with Stéphane Rolland Paris, developing their own creations made from fabrics provided by Gratacós 1940, a historic reference in high-end textiles.
The students —current students and alumni of the Degree in Design, Fashion specialization, and the Fashion Styling Vocational Training Cycle— will have the opportunity to experience the inner workings of a Haute Couture house, participating in a real project that will culminate in one of the most influential runways in the bridal sector.
The pieces created by ESDI students will open the runway, preceding the main collection by the French designer. This decision reinforces the intention to give visibility to emerging talent and open the runway to new generations of creators trained in Barcelona, positioning the city as a true creative hub with international projection.
The show will take place on the evening of April 22, 2026, at Pavilion 8 of the Montjuïc venue, an Art Deco architectural space built for the 1929 International Exhibition, whose imposing polyhedral dome will serve as the stage for a performance specially designed for this historic edition of BBFW.
In his first show in Spain, Stéphane Rolland will present an exceptional collection of 80 Haute Couture looks, including bridal proposals and gala and red carpet designs. The collection will combine retrospective pieces with 20 exclusive creations designed for the occasion, reaffirming a creative universe where fashion, architecture, and art merge into a single aesthetic narrative.
Recognized as one of the leading names in Parisian Haute Couture and a member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, Rolland has built a career marked by textile sculpture, mastery of volume, and theatrical elegance, dressing international figures such as Lady Gaga, Céline Dion, Beyoncé, and Jennifer López. His collaboration with Barcelona design schools reflects a clear commitment to the future of the sector and the dialogue between artisanal excellence and new creative perspectives.
