On June 18, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., ESDI will host “What’s Next? AI + Design: Tool, Impact and Professional Transformation”, an event dedicated to analysing the impact of artificial intelligence on graphic design and the creative professions.
Artificial intelligence is already part of the present of design. Its impact goes far beyond the introduction of a new tool: it is transforming creative processes, workflows, visual production and the role of the designer within professional environments.
With this event, ESDI proposes a space for analysis, debate and experimentation to reflect on how AI is redefining the context in which design acquires meaning and value. Far from presenting it as a replacement for the designer, the event will focus on how these technologies can expand creative capabilities, automate certain tasks and open up new professional opportunities, without losing sight of the value of judgement, intention and the human ability to generate meaning.
The event will feature professionals and specialists connected to different areas of design, technology and creativity. Speakers include Jorge Márquez, Head of Experience Design & Research at NTT DATA; Roberto Iglesias Hinojosa, CEO at Hi Experience; Daniel Olaizola, Technical artist at Hyperreal; María Soler, Animation and VFX Executive Producer; Débora Chodik, Co-founder at Monday and Co; David Martí, Motion Artist & AI Artist; Andreu Robusté, from North Studio; Sergi Casanovas & Xavi Bonell, from DigitalofThings; and Adrián Dorado, Chief Innovation Officer at Qualud.
The programme will be structured into different blocks. The first block will be dedicated to analysing the phenomenon of AI and its connection with design professionals. Moderated by Dr. Iván Marino, it will feature contributions from Jorge Márquez, Roberto Hinojosa, Daniel Olaizola and María Soler, and will conclude with a panel discussion with the speakers.
After a break, the second block will focus on specific applications of artificial intelligence in different areas of design. Presented by Carles Cabezón, it will include talks on AI in fashion, motion, visual production, interactive applications and graphic design, with the participation of Débora Chodik, David Martí, Andreu Robusté and Sergi Casanovas & Xavi Bonell.
The event will conclude with a closing conference by Adrián Dorado, Chief Innovation Officer at Qualud, focused on the relationship between AI, ethics and social design, followed by a final session of conclusions and key ideas.
