ESDI has been recognized at the ADG Laus Awards 2026 with the selection of eight projects: seven student projects and the redesign of the ESDI website, developed entirely in-house by the Communications department. The awards will be announced during the ADG Laus Night 2026, which will be held on June 11 at DHub Barcelona.
Among the selected projects is “Solemnes Cultos,” by Raquel Soldado Balmisa, a book that explores how territory and family memory shape identity and a sense of belonging, using the case of the García Asencio family in Tarifa as an example. Also selected was “The Rodríguez Family,” by Sandra Rodríguez, a project that addresses family grief through the everyday experience of a Christmas dinner, transforming the book into an emotional archive of absence, memory, and relationships.
Following this same line of intimate and conceptual research, Maria Rubio Garriga presents “El Pueblo” (The Village), a reconstruction of family memory and territory through the grandfather’s longing for his hometown in the depopulated region of Almería. Anna Contreras, with “(Re-Cordis),” pays homage to her grandmother through a book that translates memory, family ties, and the impact of a neurodegenerative disease into graphic language. Meanwhile, Raquel Soldado’s “El genuino arte de hacer cine” (The Genuine Art of Filmmaking) is a book focused on Pedro Almodóvar, constructed using typographic restraint and the color red as its visual identity axes.
The selection also includes projects that connect design, critical thinking, and social context. This is the case with “Eulàlia. Manifest Nº1,” by Marta Moreno, which reflects on gentrification and champions local businesses and neighborhood identity in Sant Andreu del Palomar. Also included is “Te amo, T’estimo. Les nostres paraules d’amor,” Maria Blanch’s Master’s thesis in Fashion Styling, which offers a visual and philosophical interpretation of contemporary ways of loving through editorial photography, still life, and retail spaces.
In addition to these projects, ESDI has redesigned its website, conceived as a structural and visual transformation aimed at improving the user experience, reinforcing brand consistency, and placing student projects at the heart of the school’s digital narrative. The new website, developed entirely by the Communications department, is presented as a “Talent Factory”: a visually inspired industrial universe reinterpreted in a contemporary style.
This selection at the Laus Awards highlights the quality, sensitivity, and critical capacity of ESDI’s projects, as well as the power of design as a tool for narrating, preserving memories, and generating new visual stories.
