Alumni Sandra Hernández at the Brut Festival!

The Brut! Festival, an event that promotes young talent and creativity, took place in Barcelona on September 26 and 27. Campus Blanc! has evolved from being a section within the Blanc! festival. to become an independent event that highlights the projects of students from various graphic design disciplines.

Among those selected, the presentation of Sandra Hernández, ESDI alumni, who presented her project titled “La Nausea” stood out. This editorial work invites the reader to embark on an introspective journey, where the protagonist faces an overwhelming sensation that makes it difficult for her to connect with reality.

“I notice it arriving, little by little. It’s here. It invades my body, from the tips of my fingers to the depths of my chest. It separates me from reality, from the world. In a matter of seconds everything is ‘nausea’.”

Nausea is an editorial project that takes the reader through a personal process in which, as a result of an unpleasant sensation that invades everything, the protagonist is forced to look inward and work with her inner world in order to move forward. This project tells us about anxiety and the emotions that surround it through different means: text, layout, images and even packaging.

Sandra’s participation in the Brut Festival! It is a clear example of how design can be a tool to address and reflect on personal and universal experiences. His work not only resonates in the field of design, but also invites reflection on emotional health in today’s society.
