From May 22 to 24, 2024, the Intercolor International Color Congress will be held in Bali, Indonesia. The main objective of these biannual meetings is cultural exchange, which makes it possible to gather knowledge about international and local social and chromatic evolutions for the coming years.
During this congress, national representatives from 17 countries share material innovations that will inspire the sustainable and technological development of textiles and interior design. During the three days, a committee of color experts analyzes the proposals to develop the official Intercolor trend proposal.
The proposal presented by Spain has been developed by ESDI Color Lab, ESDI’s color trends laboratory, and produced with ConceptD computers from Acer, a partner of the Lab. For the SS26 season, ESDI Color Lab has been based on the current era of controversy social and to do so it uses a series of chromatic ranges that represent it.
The proposal focuses on craftsmanship, forgotten in the frenzy of industrial production, which once again conquers the space that has always belonged to it. In the era of sustainability, it represents the nexus between tradition, identity and local values.
This idea leads us to consider a change of life: it is countercultural because it opposes the immediate, and the artificial and embraces the heritage of our ancestors, the compilation of techniques and knowledge based on creativity applied to everyday products.
Thus, Spain’s proposal for Intercolor SS26 materializes in four color cards, called “Warmth”, “Heartfelt”, “Oneness” and “Accordant”.
Warmth
longing, affection, tactile, sensitive
Their fingers have passed through the dishevelled braid of her hair a thousand times. The same ones who have worked with love and sensitivity with the colors of the earth and its materials. Mud, esparto grass and clay make up that universe that gives meaning to the essence of each artisan workshop and that connects us with our origins.
Heartfelt (Genuine)

A window that opens to the Mediterranean and tells us the story of some beautiful young women who lived at the bottom of the sea. They spent their time spinning, weaving and singing… They rocked on the waves, with their hair flying in the wind, and swam among fish and dolphins. Greek poets wrote about them, and their songs reached every corner of the Mare Nostrum.
Oneness

Search for the connection between tradition and innovation, between a symbolic universe that takes us back to our origins and that technological space that is imposed as necessary… We are the fruit of this fusion between the tangible and the immaterial. A divergent union that can only be explained by the creation of haptic experiences. These experiences are seen as connectors that allow us to touch emotions and perceive sensations.
