ESDI exhibits two projects in REC.0

Each edition of REC.0 is different. New spaces are opened, new brands are incorporated, and in this new edition, ESDI will exhibit two projects that participate in the contest for sustainable fashion students, which can be visited on May 8, 9, 10 and 11 in Igualada.

Rec.0 is the eclectic festival of fashion, culture and gastronomy that is held twice a year, for four days, in the Rec neighbourhood of Igualada. The old factories and tanneries of the old industrial neighbourhood of the city are transformed into pop-up fashion stores where local and international brands and independent and emerging fashion designers sell their stocks.

A visit to Rec.0 is a good opportunity to find clothes from prestigious brands on sale or discover new proposals that are revolutionizing the world of fashion.

The two students who will exhibit are Jana González and Maria Rebujent, 4th-year students with a Degree in Design, with a major in fashion.

The first look is called Fabrics Scraps, designed by Maria Rebujent. The project focuses on students of the fashion discipline, specifically on the fabric-cutting process. Maria has taken the remaining fabric scraps from the students’ projects and has reused them to create a jacket bag (multifunctional piece), to serve as an accessory for these same students to carry their everyday material.

The second look, by Jana González, is called Futur translines. Given that a high percentage of the waste is generated in the different activities we carry out daily, in this project Jana wanted to focus on one object in particular, tyres. Industries are extremely polluting, generating objects that will later be discarded. That is why what is proposed with this project is to give new life to the tyre, converting it into pants. This material has been previously treated to recover the shiny black color.

You can consult all the brands that will also attend this edition on the Rec.0 website.
