Yesterday, Wednesday, July 24, 2024, in the underground parking lot of La Roca Village, we held a new edition of the ESDI Degree Fashion Show, the presentation event for the final collections of the latest generation of ESDI-URL Design Graduates with a Specialization in Fashion.<\/p>\n

The concept of the show, “END;BEGIN,” reflected the culmination of a poetic, exciting journey, full of intimate fragments, personal revelations, and concerns… A path of challenges, uncertainty, and effort that leads us to the challenge that began with the hope of sowing the seed of creativity. Ending in order to begin a new adventure that represents the beginning of<\/p>\n

growing and sharing what we have learned.<\/p>\n

In this way, the contemporary underground parking lot of La Roca Village, designed by the L35 architectural studio, was temporarily transformed into a veritable fashion runway for a few hours.<\/p>\n

The event was presented by fashion culture expert and ESDI professor Charo Mora. Once the fashion show was over, the award for the best fashion collection of the year was presented by a professional and academic jury chaired by Elena Foguet, Business Director of Value Retail Spain, the company that manages and operates La Roca Village and Las Rozas Village. In addition to Elena Foguet, the jury also included Edu Garc\u00eda Llamas, director and founder of VEIN Magazine and Fucking Young; Dominika Niczyporuk, creative director of the brand Ika Editions; Jaume Vidiella, stylist and director of EATM-ESDI; and Mariona Mas, stylist and wardrobe director of the program Euf\u00f2ria.<\/p>\n

Designer Alejandro Abad\u00eda was crowned the winner with “LUX IN TENEBRIS,” a project inspired by his mother, born from her remarkable ability to manage the loss of her most important sense: sight. People with this impairment, due to our current society’s failure to adapt to their needs, suffer psychological and social deterioration that isolates and encloses them as a form of protection. This translates into volumetric experimentation captured in a collection of dresses, featuring oversized shapes, to represent the armor that people with vision impairment need as defense in their daily lives.<\/p>\n
