Teaching method: Empowering 4.0 mindsets

At ESDi, as a reputable university with over 30 years experience in the design industry in Catalonia, Spain, we embrace creativity, agility, empathy... with the development of design through different learning methods.

Teacher's centre method

We understand the key role of a teacher in the training pathway. Our teachers are professional, experts in their field with many years of teaching experience. They offer dynamic methods for students, from lectures to seminars and tutorials, depending on the characteristics of each subject.

Learn by doing

We encourage students to learn by doing, which is one the most important methods for these future designers. ESDi's students challenge their talent from the first and second year through a series of projects, workshops, company projects, field trips...

Toward digitalisation

We focus relentlessly on the path of introducing digital aspects into our teaching method. Our teachers and programmes train students not only in digital skills, but also in their mindset about the 4.0 world. We equip students in AR, VR, 3D printing, software, big data... which are recent skills in the design industry. As a complement to digitalisation and design in the future, we teach student creative thinking, design thinking, user experience... in order to adapt their design to the demands of digital and modern technology.

Grading System and ECTS

All our Degrees in the bachelor level and graduate level are credit-rated. Students obtain the credit record when they complete all required assignments, as well as meeting all syllabus criteria. Most Western European countries have moved to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). This system was developed by the European Commission (EU) to provide common procedures abroad for the recognition of studies undertaken in participating countries within Europe. In ECTS terms, 60 credits represent the full-time load of one academic year of study and 30 credits represent the full-time load of one academic semester of study.
