Nowadays it’s unthinkable to design without considering the user experience, especially in the digital environment, either taking desktop or apps as a platform. To consider this as a key and generate efficient and attractive designs, we have to contemplate features and the needs of these users as well as the business opportunities that the costumer wants to explore. In this course you will learn the bases of the design focused in the user. We will cover from the strategic definition to the design prototipe, exploring different methodologies and techniques of a design project UI/UX. By generating solution for users and being aware of the requirements of the usual business in the market, we will help the participant understand all the stages that the interface has to go through before it arrives to the user.

“Trial and error” is not just a saying. It’s an approach that has helped design, both in practice and in theoretical research, to seek answers to human problems regarding products, goods and services. Working from the empathy, creativity and sensibility of the designer as a source, Design Thinking seeks to identify hidden opportunities every day and turn them in questions or problems of design. In this way, understanding the user, observing, generating a “user type”, ideating, prototyping and testing are the parts that constitute a methodology that aims to change the design labor.

A simple and daily element such as bread, actually hides a world full of aesthetic and design possibilities. Starting from the food design, the workshop is going to make a tour through history, research and experimentation with the raw material to make real proposals at a prototype level. Art, design, science and technology come together in a proposal of gastronomic nature that will work with healthy and medicinal ingredients, forms and assemblies and even intelligent design.

Each illustrator has a style that characterizes them, but, even further from those languages and specific instruments, exists a set of techniques and basic knowledge from which they build their own creativity. The purpose of this workshop is to transmit that tool, working with the human figure, incorporating composition concepts of materials and techniques to allow the student translate their voice into the paper.

Create an experience, create a pop-up

Duration: 16 hours.

Dates and times: from 2nd to 5 th of July, 16h to 20h.

Price: 240 euros, with 25% of discount to students and alumni.

Professor: Susana Aristoy, Filena Di Tommaso.

A few years ago, designers and chefs from New York and London wanted to find space alternatives to exhibit their work and not find themselves tied to fixed rental costs. Starting from that worry, the pop-up stores were born, naturally itinerant and temporary spaces that generate a different experience for the consumer, more attractive and exclusive. The workshop will seek to introduce the student into this store format, showing it applicability not only in product sales, but also in the communication of cultural content, inquiring, also, in subjects as branding, virality and implication of customer and public.
