ESDi at Barcelona Design Week 2022

The 17th edition of Barcelona Design Week will take place from the 2nd to the 22nd of June 2022. The festival is committed to bringing he world of design closer to the public, showing the  transformative capacity of design in the face of the unprecedented changes we are experiencing in the social, economic, ecological and cultural spheres. This year’s slogan is “Wayfindings: orientations to create new presents”. A proposal from design to connect with the city, Barcelona, and especially with the youngest, to share the power of design for transformation and the values that will have to shape a better world.

ESDi will be present with several activities at BDW22. The first one will be on the 8th of June and it is entitled “How does Gen Z view digital advertising?”. It is a live research led by the professor of the User Experience and Interface Design UX/UI Master and Head of Experience Design at NTT Data in Europe Jorge Márquez. In this round table, experts and members of generation Z will share their vision, needs and concerns about digital advertising. Among these components of generation Z will be our student Dèlia Delgado and the alumni and teacher of the Graphic Workshop Marta Jou.

We have organised two talks for the 20th and 21st of June at the new headquarters of the “Escuela de Artes y Técnicas de la Moda EATM”, as part of the OFF programme of Barcelona Design Week:

On the afternoon of 20 June, the renowned illustrator and director of Postgraduate in Creative Strategies in Illustration and Visual Communication Pepe Serra will give the talk “From the word to the image through the concept”, where he will explain the creative process he uses to translate words into images and struggle with impossible deadlines. Admission is free with prior registration through Eventbrite at the following link. Limited tickets!

On the 21st it will be Clara Sullà’s turn, with a lecture entitled “Textile art, solutions for interior design and decoration”.  Clara has her own textile design company applied to acoustic solutions for interior design, Sullà Studio. We will discover more about her work and how textile art can help us to create an emotional link with spaces and to turn space design  projects into an elegant and differential experience. Admission is free with prior registration through Eventbrite at the following link. Don’t miss out!
