29 Jan Ane Castro and Núria Costa will be present at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid after winning Samsung’s first prize
Less than a year after completing their passage through ESDi and presenting their innovative collection at our Degree Show, designers Ane Castro and Núria Costa have been honored by the Samsung brand with the Samsung EGO Innovation Project award, which will allow them to parade during the closing day of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid on January 29.
In addition to the possibility of inaugurating the Samsung EGO parade at Fashion Week, the award provides Castro and Costa with an economic endowment of 10,000 to take forward its proposal, the ZER firm, now recognized by one of the main platforms for promoting young talents in fashion.
ESDi alumni will parade with their project CONECT3D, which consists of 10 garments made from materials produced by 3D printing and digital manufacturing, which propose a reflection on production in the field of fashion and the introduction of new technologies in clothing. Each outfit will also incorporate Samsung devices to illustrate the adaptation of fashion to technology.
Like its Final Degree Project, COD3NTIDAD, which is immersed in concepts such as identity theft, concealment and duplication through pattern-making and materials, CONECT3D incorporates sustainable manufacturing processes that eliminate the possibility of surplus material in packaging.
